Sometimes I don’t think passengers appreciate how difficult it is to land an aircraft. Take a look at these extremely tough landing spots.
to be fair, the pic of Macao is not the runway, only the taxiway to the runway. The runway is built as an island about 300m offshore. If you want a good landing spot have a look at the videos of landings at St Maarten.
