That’s not “A girl.” That is Arwen from Lord of the Rings.

And having a tattoo is not stupid in itself. It’s putting something on your body permanently that is either poorly done, a joke, or a fad. You have the right to do it. But the rest of us have the right to mercilessly mock you.

Unless you are a sailor or biker, tattoos are best if seen on others. I am waiting for the next fad, NO TATTOOS ! Soon, young people will be wearing sleeveless shirts to show off their clean, un-mutilated skin. Those with tattoos will realize that what looked pretty and fresh when new, turns into an unrecognizable blob as both the tattoo and the person ages, gains weight, looses weight etc. Yes, tattoos are permanent, but they only look good for a few years and then they become less and less recognizable. If you are thinking about getting one, just keep thinking about and don’t do it. I was a sailor once, I know what I am talking about.

it’s a big diffrence from old sailor tattoos and modern tattoos..
the ink is of better quality; he machines are better, meaning it places the ink in the right deapth in the skin; the tattoos are bigger (often) meaning it will look better ageing; the tattooers are better skilled. i have tattoos, pretty big ones, and doesn’t care when unskilled people say that they think it’s stupid because they don’t know. sailor tattoos are ugly and small to begin with. of course they are going to be blurry…
i’ve seen lots of awesome looking old tattoos (10 years and older).
