I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End over the weekend. If you’re one of those people who has been told there are extra scenes after the credits, don’t bother!

Pirates of the Caribbean At World’s End

It was great siting through the credits and finding out who Mr Depp’s Driver was and which font was used for the opening and closing credits (They weren’t the same). The to be presented with a scene that did nothing, was boring (No dialogue) and was a half arsed attempt at a sappy ending.

Apart from that, the Pirates was pretty damn good, but very silly in parts.

There were lots of twists and turns, betrayals, fighting, stuff blowing up, people being killed (Never any blood) and lots and lots of special effects that looked quite amazing.

Orland Bloom - Will Turner Johnny Depp - Jack Sparrow Chow Yun-Fat - Captain Sao Feng
Keira Knightley - Elizabeth Swann Geoffrey Rush - Barbossa

Pirates 3 starts off in Singapore, with some very different looking pirates. The old pirate gang are there to get some tools needed for bringing Jack Sparrow, sorry Captain Jack Sparrow back from the dead.

Bringing someone back from the dead isn’t that easy, but it was nothing compared to what they had to do next… Get along with each other, as well as the other pirates to fight a war against Davy Jones and the East Indian Trading Company. The heart broken, tentacle faced Davy Jones isn’t the happiest almost invincible pirate killing machine, so it’s by far an easy job.

Being a Disney movie, it has to all end well. Although people do die along the way.

There are some really great explosions and sword fights, probably better than seen in Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man’s Chest. Of the three Pirate movies, this would probably rank number 2, behind the first movie.

Well worth a watch on the big screen!

Have a look at Phill Ryu’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End for more on why it kicked ass.

I hate to disappoint you but the clip after the credits was important because since Elizabeth had been loyal to Will for the ten years then his debt was paid and he was free to return to land forever. Did you notice the green flash which symbolizes a soul returning from the dead. Oh and if you are wondering who I am, I just stumbled upon your site.

Justin your right!……….All I can say is

“…..what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.” (billy Madison)

Your an Idiot!

Wow, that’s a bit harsh.

I don’t think waiting through the credits was really worth it.

Besides we don’t know if Elizabeth was faithful. How old was that kid anyway?

Comment by Adam on May 30th, 2007

Really whose kid do you think it is? He is probably 9 years and 3 months old and he is Will’s kid. The green light was the dead giveaway that Will was returning from the dead. Plus if you had paid attention to the movie then you would of known what was going on.

I’m not saying the scene itself was horrible and the kid thing was a joke. It’s just I don’t think the sitting through the very long credits was worth it.

The story didn’t need that scene to be complete, which is probably why it was after the credits.

I had already assumed that Will Turner would fulfill the debt/duty and Elizabeth Swan would be waiting for him.

Well if they make a 4th movie which seems likely as of now that scene becomes very important. I thought it was more important than the scene after the 2nd movie when the we see the dog just sitting in the chair. I think if you look at all three scenes, I thought that this one was the most important for the story line. I think most people will be disappointed with it because they are expecting something funny.

There’s a scene after every movie? I didn’t know that.

What was after the first Pirates?

Comment by Adam on May 30th, 2007

After the first movie they show the monkey Jack going back and stealing a piece of gold from the chest. Making him cursed again and this explains why Jack Sparrow can’t kill the monkey in the next two movies.

I know this conversation happened a month ago but I just had to correct one of the first comments: Will cannot come back to land forever. His obligation is forever or until someone stabs his heart. He can come back for one day at a time every ten years. Which sucks for him, but whats ten years out of forever? Who really gets shafted is Elizabeth. If she stays faithful, she’ll only be able to get nookie like six times, maybe more if she stays in great shape and they come out with some kind of back in the day Viagra for chicks, but what fun is that? Which leaves the way open for the plot sembalance that will shape PotC4!!!!

Wow, I doubt anyone still checks these comments, but I had to make a few statements.

First of all, if you go to Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio’s website (they are the writers, if you didn’t know) they specifically say that Will’s curse is lifted after 10 years, if Elizabeth is still waiting for him. Which is why the scene after the credits is significant.

In Curse of the Black Pearl, like Justin said, we see Jack the Monkey stealing a piece of Aztec gold, which explains his undeadness in DMC. After the credits in Dead Man’s Chest, there was a really stupid pointless scene of the prison dog being made cheif by the cannibals.

They just decided that, for AWE, they would make the scene after the credits a bit more significant.

And Adam, even though you asid you assumed Liz would have waited for Will after ten years, considering her history (kissing four different guys in the span of two movies…) I’m sure not many people thought she was capable of staying faithful. :)

And yes, that is her son. At least, in the credits he is called “Will Turner III”

I always check the comment Mollay, and thanks for the clarification.

I wasn’t sure that the curse would be lifted after 10 years. Is he still immortal?

Who was the fourth person Ms Swan kissed? Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Captain Norington and…
